The Good, and the Sad Part of Self-Marketing

The good part is walking in a store with books in hand and introducing something you believe in. We've had unbelievably good experiences. Books are now for sale all the way from Eureka, California in the south to Bandon, Oregon to the north. I plan to visit Coos Bay soon. The sad part is when things don't happen the way you hoped they would. For example, the Oregon Coast Aquarium said they wanted to have us do a signing and sell our books.....that was scheduled for spring break. Then they said summer. Then they got a new manager and we just found out that the only way to get our book into their store is by calling a place in Orlando, Florida (!). E'Lyssa will actually be in Florida in a few weeks and offered to take a book to the book distributor/sales company they use. In the meantime, I've left them a message - a voice mail message since there is no operator and the only purchasing voice mail they have is "full." That's just downright SAD! Well, we'll just endeavor to persevere...
